Blog #5: Clarity Is A Profit Tool, Not A Soft Skill

“What does this paragraph from John mean?  It makes no sense.  He’s even missing the details for the party wall.”

Yep, the daily navigation through endless job site ambiguity in texts, email and instructions that we all go through - it costs delays, money and your credibility.  Can you afford that?

Let me be clear.  The cost is cumulative.

Day by day, you lose - till you decide that it stops.

Most people think in terms of themselves when they talk to others.

They push out excessive, useless detail or half-baked thoughts, not worthy of a finish.

It’s all about them, and their perception and ego.

It’s weak. It fails.

High performers communicate at the level of the audience and their understanding.

If you’re not doing that, it’s time that you start.

Refine how you think and communicate.

Brainstorm all of the possibilities, then cut the fluff.

Distill your message to the critical details and scenarios.

Clarity is a profit tool, not a soft skill.  It’s about thinking, not talking.
